Homeland Security Ammo
« on: May 07, 2013, 08:19:03 AM »
I heard Ted Nugent on Glenn Beck this morning say that he believes some of the Homeland Security Ammo is being funnelled to the Syrian Rebels.  He thinks it is just too much ammo and storage can be a problem for them eventually.  Makes sense to me.  What do you guys think?

Could be, because AR's dried up for a while.  Now a lot more people are manufacturing them and prices are coming down.  You know they did order a bunch of AR's and called them Personal Protection Rifles.  Also, they have a surplus of 9mm handguns because most agencies are/or have switched domestically to the 40 S&W.  Just as high capacity and harder hitting.

The reps at the NRA meeting in Houston all told me that the bulk of their ammo is going to retailers.? I dunno somebody is fibbing!

Well, I guess everyone is stocking up on 22LR ammo.  Lots of new gun owners, so most must be buying 22 rifles and pistols.  Lower cost, no kick, and ammo when available is cheap.  Some must be buying bricks of it as it comes in.  Wish they would only allow one brick per customer, then maybe some would be available.  I only like copper plated solids.  They penetrate deeper, and don't corrode like regular lead.  Good in a survival situation as they can penetrate a deer skull at under 50 yards.  Hollow points explode.  Someone did a test on line about 20 years ago and the bulk solids copper plated penetrated 5 milk jugs of water while stuff like CCI stingers and Yellow Jackets only penetrated two jugs and were found inside the third one.  Solids will kill a small animal just as quick as hollow points.  I go for the penetration though for survival and even against two legged predators.  I have a supply, but I haven't seen any since December.

I haven't seen the rebels using any ARs.  I think this is BS.

Actually, anything out of T. Kennedy's mouth caused me to take something stouter than a grain of salt.
