Grips 97 vs 83
« on: May 13, 2013, 08:19:01 AM »
I have an FA 454 bought about 25 years ago when there was only one model and one caliber (454 Casull).
It came with the rosewood grip.
It turns out that was the best grip I've ever had on any handgun.
It fits my hand perfectly, and allows a little rotation when the gun in fired which makes the 454 painless to shoot.
I'm thinking of ordering another FA revolver, and need to decide between an 83 or 97 model.
My questions are:
Does the 97 have the same sized grip as the 83?
Does the current 83 have the same grip size as the old (25 year ago) model?

The 97 is 90% the size of the 83. Same grip angle and frame , just .9 of the 83.

The grip for the current 83 is "I think" the same size as yours. That is to say, I've never read anything to the contrary.  I've read a lot.
