Can someone post apic of a 243 regular and superlite
« on: May 23, 2013, 04:56:55 AM »
Do any of you guys have a pic comparing the two barrel profiles.  I just picked up a 243 with a muzzle diameter of .643. Seems like it will be a good one.

It's easy to tell the difference, all Superlights are only 20" long, standard barrels are 22" long, .643" sounds like a Superlight to me, but it could be a slim standard too, I suppose, length is key. My 243 Superlight barrels are .623" and .634".

As always, thank you sir. I have a 22" barrel with a muzzle that is .644 when I measured just now. Curious. Thanks again Tim

The weight loss of the Superlight barrel isn't at the muzzle, it's just ahead of the chamber swell, much smaller than a standard barrel, but similar diameter at the muzzle, smallest Superlight barrel I've seen reported here is Marv's(Datil) at .595".
