nice work.
i've made a couple, and they started
nice but got too complicated and full
and heavy. i wouldn't add anything
more than you have. before you know
what happened it's full of stuff you
never use or need and you get to where
you hate to see it because you know you'll
have to wag the heavy thing.

another drawback is if you camp with others
around as in a public campground or on public
land at a designated campground that chuckbox
is a an eye magnet for everyone else that
needs salt, pepper, paper plates, an extra fork,
etc. , or maybe even looking to pick their selves
a new chuckbox when nobody's looking  :o

a tip i can give you from camping on public land
and hunting for a lot of years is to put your name
on every last piece of gear you have. i even put
my name on all my silverware i had for camping
with an electric engraver. if your cooler or waterjugs
come up gone, and there's 35 people there, there's
no way for the warden or deputy to identify your
gear from someone else's. i have lost a few things
from someone's greed.

good luck with it and have fun

funny true story:

after a couple of years of hunting on
public land with my friends i started
marking everything. i ended up with a
cooler in the back of my truck that wasn't
mine. i took it around to each person there
and asked if it was theirs. same year my
hat ended up gone and was replaced
by i guess whoever took mine. i guess
they liked mine better. i started marking
everything that year.
anyway, the funny part was one evening,
a guy walked up to me and handed me a
spoon. i asked what was up. he says " that's
yours aint it?" i said yes, where did you get
this? he says" from one of the guys that was
camped next to us"   ???   one of my spoons
with my name engraved on it! !
go try to figure people.

one of reasons i bought a 10 man arctic tent, and the chuck box, not anti-social but want my grand kids to learn like i did from my grandfather, took the 1,3,6 year old above ouray colo this weekend, grandma said not just no but hell no, their greatest adventure? using the 5 gallon bucket with the toilet seat JB welded on it, and eating off those stainless steel mess trays

glad to hear they made a time of it !

there's something about being out in
the bush that makes the lowliest can
of pork and beans into a gourmet feast.

ain't nothing like that skillet of ham or bacon
and that pot of coffee on the fire just as
the little orange band of sunlight is turning
the eastern sky pink and blue. video
games can't compare.
