Boyd's forends
« on: May 27, 2013, 05:40:27 PM »
Ok little worried about the Boyd forends. The website says the Heavy Rifle forend (bull) is 3.125" centers on the screws. The Standard Field design is 4.5" centers ??? . Is this a typo since all my two screw barrels have a center of 3.55"

Anybody have a MGM barrel using the Boyd forend? All my T/C barrels are also the same 3.55".

I just happened to have a forearm laying beside my computer and took my caliper and measured.  It is a composite forearm from T/C.  I measures 3.55 center to center.  This forearm will fit any of my Contender carbine barrels.  So I would think you would be safe in saying that is a standard measurement.  Hope this helps.

Do not buy the Heavy forend. Does not fit any factory contender barrel. Had to send mine back.

The standard forend fits the contender bull barrels. They do not make a forend that fits tapper barrels.
