reduced load for 7.62x54R
« on: May 22, 2013, 04:34:50 PM »
I just got the June issue of 'The American Rifleman' and on page 46 has a reduced load for the .308 Win. It was 8.0 grains of Hodgdon Clays + Hornady 168 gr A-Max = 908 fps, What I'd like to do is get a similar load in 7.62x54R but with a heavy cast flat base bullet >= 180 grain at 900 fps.

Anyone know of any loads that meet those parameters?

Do a search on the web for (cat sneeze loads). You should be able to find something.

You could probably use Trail Boss, or maybe AA 5744.
