Spent yesterday packing bags of dog food on pack frames, fueling up the pick-up, loading the drums, getting everything ready to head up the Haul Rd. We have Black Bear baiting stations up there. Our bait sites are above the Yukon River. Our intent was to go up and put out the bait Monday. Drive to Cold Foot and do some calling along the way. Then Tuesday we were going to Galbreth Lake, above the Brooks Range. That means we are going through Atigun Pass. Spend Tuesday and Wednesday, calling on the North Side of the range. Then Thursday morning drive back to our bait sites. Spend Thursday afternoon and Friday sitting on the bait. Then head back Friday night.
With this avalanche we may have to rethink our plans. Alaska always test your plans for flexiability.
