Frankly, I don't get it!  What in blue blazes is wrong with the Aunt Jemima box or Popeye's.  The cartoon of Popeye was obviously white, I don't see any racism involved in the chicken restaurants. an their spokes lady is a charming person..
  Aunt Jemima is obviously a fictional character, created to sell pancake dough..so what's the big deal ?  She is portrayed in a very positive light. With different skin tones, she could pass for many folks' beloved aunt.
 
  I suppose there are many mentally-deficient people waiting around to find some way to be "offended"..
 
  If there were more people of such nature around, there would be huge complaints concerning the "Pillsbury Doughboy", Charlie Chan movies would be banned and all the Indian head pennies and nickels melted down decades ago, and Johnnie Carson would have had nightly pickets, for pretending to be "The Great Karnack"!

   I wonder just how much our 1st amendment, and the whole constitution is worth?  Yes, there are rude, crude terms for sure, but is censorship ever a good idea?
   When our constitution was honored, we used to say, " Yes, the 1st amendment covers....even when we say something stupid!"    What's wrong with that? 
     If somebody says something that stupid, few will pay him any heed and probably write him off  and just turn off their attention..or upbraid him if he is too far out of line.

In the south, if you had a black cook, housekeeper, or cleaning lady, whites always called them aunt with their name.  It was like sir or mamn, not derogatory, but a respectful term.  Don't know where these northern liberals get this.  Aunt Jemima must have been a great cook, and so was Uncle Ben.  Nothing derogatory.  Stupid liberals looking for something else to complain about.

  I've worked with some big black men who respectfully referred to their parent's sisters as "Aunty"..   I certainly see no problem in that.
      You're undoubtedly correct DD.. that response may just be someone who is ignorant of cultural differences and put their mouth in gear before they engage their brain.
        We face the same kind of cultural differences right here in the state in which I live.  Unfortunately, the majority of legislators who go to the state capital and make laws, come from one of the 5 big cities.  They make laws that affect we who have no desire to deal with or in any way emulate those "big city birds".  Unfortunately however, we are still stuck with the laws pressed upon us by that commie, "group think" bunch.
