The results of the Lucky Gunner Ballistics Test provide some very interesting information.
The Lucky Gunner Ballistics Test was an extremely detailed experiment that tested the performance of 117 different .380 ACP, 9mm Luger, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP self-defense loads by shooting them into ballistic gelatin under controlled conditions.

Their goal was to provide consumers with a comprehensive resource comparing the terminal performance of the most popular self-defense ammo to show how they all stack up against each other. Based on what I've seen so far, it really seems like they hit it out of the park on this one.

Watch the video to learn some of the details on how the ballistics tests were conducted and how to interpret the data provided.

The ballistics gel test results speak for themselves. When you can measure precisely how many inches of penetration a hollow point bullet, and it's tough to argue with penetration depth.

I must say that I'm extremely impressed by the results of their ammo test, and this is by far the most comprehensive collection of data regarding real world terminal performance for handgun ammunition that I've ever seen.

Each of the self-defense ammunition styles have bullet designs with their own performance levels. The proof is in the pudding.

As of this writing, they only tested .380 ACP, 9mm Luger, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, but more is in the works and I would not be surprised to see testing results for the .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and .357 Sig soon.

Such clear ballistics info on handgun ammo is priceless for the regular Joe, but there's no doubting that law enforcement and agencies like the FBI are paying attention to this kind of resource.

You can find a lot more info, and of course a ton of ammo, at LuckyGunner.com.

How did your preferred concealed carry self-defense rounds perform during the Lucky Gunner Ballistics Test?
