Film can cannon

These are fun when it's nasty out or sub zero like it is here in Central Maine most the time. Use a grill or lighter ignitor, film can, piece of  thermostat wire with the ends stuck thru the screwed on baseplate, into the can a bit and maybe 3/16" apart for the spark. I use any old perfume,, I don't wear that junk I naturally smell good   Use the clear fuji cans is great in the dark. Goes about 60 feet plus and bounces all around a room if you miss the hallway.
Link is where I got the idea, neat site.  Hermit

So the cannister is the projectile...clever.

Not exactly what CW and I had in mind when we took up this forum, but it is a cannon.  Shoot these little guys and you will only want to move up to the big one.  Then this give the folks shooting the big ones something to do in the off season.

Once a cannoneer.....

DoubleD.. Yea it is probably pushing the "blackpowder cannon/mortar" boundries a bit but they sure are fun! They are also something all the readers can afford and do and with very minimal tools. Believe me, when someone sees one of these go off it doesn't matter if they are 3 or 90 thet get an ear to ear grin. You can also buy the ignitors thru the sci link. I was going to make a balistic missile submarine with a rotary switch to the ignitor and about 3 cans on it pointing vertically for my next one. I think a pistol design and chase each other around the house with them would be fun too. Ever seen the mini marshmallo shooter yet? Pretty cool you can eat your ammo if you get hungry   Hermit
