How can you tell when your Ruger was made????
« on: March 09, 2004, 03:16:01 PM »
I've got several Ruger rifles and handguns.

Was wondering if there is a formula for determining the date of manufacture.

Let me know. thanks

If you call Ruger and give them the serial number on each gun they can tell you when each gun was made.

Try the Sturm, Ruger & Company website.

They provide lists of serial number ranges, and using that and the model of your firearm, can get a good estimate of the date of manufacture.

OK, thanks John Traveler......

Took me awhile searching around on the Ruger site, but I found it!

Sure wish Ruger had a serial number system that definately identifies the date of manufacture.

A couple of my Rugers were definately not made according to that list.....but Ruger explained that that would be the case for some of them.
