Contender value
« on: February 01, 2014, 12:23:35 PM »
I have a Contender serial #200xxx with a hexagon .357/.38 spc, .45/410 & a .22lr barrels, with the original forends and grips in good to excellent condition.  What is a range of value for the set?

Buddy, just so you understand, classified ads are not allowed on the discussion forums.  If this turns into one then I will remove it.

Check the TC classified board, and on the auction sites to get a range.  Loca prices may be different in your neighborhood, so you may want to check with a LGS or two.

You can figure the frame is worth around $250 and the barrels around $200 each if you split it up.

One strong point to the Contender, (et al) system is the ability to buy a gang of what you don't necessarily want then farm it out as mailable pieces, keeping what you can build on - since the only part that is a gun is the casting with the serial number.

$600 is a good round number, varies by condition of the set, and if there are scopes mounted.  I have bought several complete contenders for $300, so adding 2 extra bbls should add a couple hundred of more to it.  Location makes a big difference also.  they seem to be cheaper here in Georgia.  good luck with it.  Wallacem
