buff classic and wild boar
« on: March 15, 2004, 05:28:51 AM »
I killed my second russian boar last Sat. I  used my Buff Classic and it was awesome. 36 gr. of 3031 pushing a 405 grain bullet . More velocity is NOT needed. The first boar I killed  last year  had complete penetration . I had to take a running shot this year because for some reason the hogs were very spooky . The boar dropped at the shot . It was a neck shot but this year there was no exit hole. I thought this was strange until my friend found a 5 inch diameter sapling that I had killed first. The bullet had enough inertia to pass through the sapling and break the boars neck . That's power. I love the gun and 405 gr. Rem bullets.

Got any pictures of your Russian Boar? How big was he and what was the yardage you took him at.? Sounds like you had a great time too

I don't have the ability to post pictures . It was a young boar about 170 lbs. with 1.75 inch cutters I shot him at about 20 yds . It was very thick where I was hunting .

If you find some of the free pic hosting sites on the net you can upload to them.  Once there anyone of us can help you post them here, it's pretty simple once you know how.  Maybe borrow a digital camera if you don't own one.  Pics do not need to be high resolution to look good on the site either.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
