Why the nashing of teeth and the panic? I just went to Tractor Supply Co. website and they have several wood burning stoves that meet or exceed the new EPA regs. Most are under $1,000.

I guess we all are not as well off as you are and if we have one that works fine why should we have to replace it with a $ 1000.00 stove.

For the record, this is a ban on the manufacture and sale of new stoves that don't meet the regulations.
What I have: 30-06 Handi (2003), 12ga mod. bbl
What I want: .22lr offset (versa-pack) bbl, 357 Max bbl

This has nothing to do with clean air.  It's just another regulation designed to make people more dependent on government.  Another way to expand the EPA (someone will have to enforce the law) and get government into your home (we have to enter your home to "inspect" your stove).  And, of course, EPA SWAT teams to be used if someone is so archaic as to think it's none of the government's business how they stay warm!

If it's about clean air then how is it the government regularly conducts "controlled" burns on wild land.  I wonder how they plan on reducing the particle emissions when they do those?? ::)

You don't have to replace you stove until you want too and if price is too much for you, looked for used. My previous post said there were several new models at Tractor Supply that were under $1,000 and only one above. What did a new previous generation wood stove cost? They did give them away did they?

The article does not say when the new regulations take effect. Just because there are stoves available at Tractor Supply for under a grand now does not mean they will be there for under a grand next season. The stoves they have now may have been manufactured before the idiotic regs were passed. This is just more unwanted and unneeded government intrusion into citizens' lives.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

These regulations by the EPA are just more leftist moves to gain control over our lives.  remember, "inside every liberal is a dictator..screaming to be let out!".
I bought a Jotul "Elk" woodstove back in 1976.  It has been a fine and extremely efficient stove which my son now uses.  At that time I paid something like $576 for the stove..a pretty dear at that time.  however, here it is 38 years later and only one hanging, cast iron liner plate replaced.
It is just like the one shown below (from the web) except instead of black, it has a glossy, moss green porcelain finish.

BTW:  Across from the horse molded into the side of the stove, is a moose.. in Norway, they are called Elks..
