Snake Charmers and Diamond Rio
« on: February 16, 2014, 09:21:39 AM »
Saw this story about a Kentucky minister/snake charmer who, in a shocking twist of events, died of a snake bite.

Reminded me of one of my favorite songs, (and also, if I'm being honest, of TM7):

Anyone else find themselves bored in February?

I remember a story about picking up snakes by Jerry Clower.  When the snakes came out  he asked where the back door was.  After being told there was no back door he said " recon where do they want one ".

Man, ain't that the truth! HA!
"Captain, my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. Captain, that is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave."  ~Stonewall Jackson~  24 July 1861

Too bad the snake handlers don't read Mark 16 the way they do other chapters in rightly dividing the Word of truth to discern what is literal and figurative.  Do they actually believe the bread and wine are flesh and blood?  Man has got to study the context and accurate translations of the Word.  I wonder if a Strong's Concordance is in the church?  I guess I just hate to see good people waste their lives on some kind of misinterpretation.  We will need strong Christians of all sorts in the coming years to battle what is coming.

"...in a shocking twist of events, died of a snake bite."

What's "shocking" about it, exactly? ???

Well, they wanted a reality tv show and they got one. Everyone has preferences. NASCAR, PBR, NBA, NFL, MLB, snake handling, cults, pistols, rifles, and shotguns. Everyone thinks their choice is best. Sometimes it is, and sometimes it proves otherwise.
Myself? I shoot snakes.  ;)

This subject reminds me of one of my favorite movies which depicts 'illusion' graphically--and its danger...for those paying attention to the allegory.

A movie that was under appreciated... Not so much with Ludacris though...

Ludacris is 'reality therapy'....for those in need of it or by way of Karmic Law ( the law of for every action there's a reaction) get some.
I guess that's one theory...
