In the midst of a bad storm.Rain first and getting another foot or more of snow.Been shoveling and trying to get snow off the roof.Trees are breaking and coming down, lost part of the birch in my front yard.Big branch is going to take out the power lines into the house--its just a matter of time.Winds are supposed to be over 40mph tonight and I am afraid that is when we will lose our power and heat.
Hope things go well for you Lee.

Well Tom we got more rain than snow , alot of ice and then it snowed later on around midnight and covered everything with about 4 inches of snow.   Did the roof snow two days ago when it was still sugary, sure feel sorry for people doing it when wet.   Lost power for short time last nite.   I  will be manning the Wisconsin Trappers booth at the WI Taxidermy Assoc this afternoon till  9 tonight.  We have 40 winds already and snow is blowing even with the crust on top.   Hope the birch limb holds up.   I have a pellet stove but have a back up battery if power goes out with  inverter.    Shovel safely.

Was glad I took the initiative to shovel my roofs yesterday before the big rain. The snow was extremely heavy already and watering it would have made it even heavier.

Asa,it's all heavy now. I go out and shovel for a while,go in for coffee, then back out again.
Hope to get everything finished up this weekend, before the below zero temps hit us again.Looks like several upcoming days, with highs below zero.

Asa, how much snow you have by you?  Do you get the lake effect?   This year ive used my snowshoes more than i have in the last ten....even in my back yard.  Nothing like being on the roof looking around except for the shoveling...lol.

Have around 3 feet here RdFx but just a few miles North where my camp is there is 5 feet of snow on the level. I only get the tail end of lake effect snow blowing in over Lake Superior. It takes a S SW wind to pile in lake effect snow here from Lake Michigan.  There shouldn't be any more lake effect this season as Lake Superior is almost entirely frozen over.

Lee
I've been sort of a lurker here myself lately. Hunkered down with weather and all but still kicken.
