Ignorant Media on Guns

I was reading an article about Knicks point guard Raymond Felton getting arrested for having an unregistered gun in New York City (turned in to the police by the wife whom he's divorcing). Check out how unknowledgeable the writer is when it comes to firearms.

"When turned in, the gun had 18 rounds in the chamber, thus violating New York's SAFE act, which restricts the number of bullets in a cartridge to seven. This act also restricts the maximum cartridge size to 10."

maybe dumb or maybe playing to a dumb readership  making it sound as bad as possible.

If you read some of the stories on that item, depending on which one you read you have a hard time knowing they are speaking of the same case.

One says that due to the fact the wife's attorney turned the gun in to the police, they are going to have a hard time proving he did anything wrong as they cannot prove it was in his place of residence.

The gun was an FN 5.7 so it is in his best interest that his wife and her attorney are twits.
