Any pics of favorite fixed blade hunting knives

For some the 'best' knife has changed. for others no so much.
Any pics of what you used to use and if that has changed and why?

As a boy, just starting hunting, my pop gave me a Buck 112. Just a lil smaller than his 110. I used and carried that knife daily I wore it all thru high school. It always worked and dressed countless game form squirrels and rabbits to Deer and hogs as well as Pigs, Roosters and a beef steer. some years later, I began using a pack and went to a straight knife. I did not feel comfortable carrying a straight knife on my belt.

I have been using a BUCK Vanguard... I have had it for twenty years and it only comes out of my pack for dressing duties. Its good buck made in USA steel.

About ten or so years back I bought a Cold Steel Master Hunter Carbon V

I do have a gut hook that I like. Its a Whitetail hunter. Its like a push knife but with a short fat blade and a gut hook on the back. Its SUPER hard steel made by Outdoor edge before they where popular. Its hard to get a edge on but holds it well.

Figured I could count on you CW when you found this  ;D
The CS-MH is pretty close to several of my older and modded butcher knives. It is a size Im comfortable with and like the clip to a real point more than a drop point. Thought about buying one since they came out, should have way back when they were cheaper.
My wife has liked the old Case drop point I got her with about a 2 3/4(?)" blade and she did well with it on WI Whitetail. It took over from a '60's vintage German made 'hunter' with a straight 6ish" blade that her dad gave her.

the master hunter is a pretty decent knife.
i've had one for a while, but i've never got
used to it. since i got shed of my expensive
cutlery, i've been using one of those c-s
outdoorsman lite. (or is it lite outdoorsman?)
it's long enough to suit me and the handle
isn't tacky like the master hunter. i really
wish i'd have bought a quantity of those
c-s wooden handled butcher knives they
had back a while ago.
i also use a couple of herter's/murphy
"improved bowie" knives.
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I couldnt picture that Herter's/Murphy, Ranger, so I had to Google up, now I recognize it. I think I'd like the smaller 4" Bull Cook's Knife version than the 5" Improved Bowie (what a misnomer).
I could have dug out my old Herter's catalog, circa 1967? but Google was eaisier. The catalog is a hoot to look through; those were the days!

I remember learning to load with my uncle as a boy. He had all kinds of Herters pieces parts everywhere!!  I still use a few of there things to this day.

Fond memories looking thru there catalog with my father.

They are Gerber "custom series" that I bought new, MANY years ago...

Must be the "middle" one, I see it's been sharpened the most!  lol
