You Know You are a darn good Turkey hunter when

They just show up to surrender before the season opens. Couple days ago the wife says LOOK on the back deck. This deck sets 12 foot off the ground and takes 14 steps to get to the top. Looking outside this is what I seen. Guess he was trying to tell us the bird feeders are empty.

W KY GUY. Thanks for sharing. A friend of mine said he had a wild turkey that would come on his porch for dog food every day and would look in the window and watch TV. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

This is one of two spring regulars that we know are at least 5 years old. They have had major issues with the turkey they can see in the chrome bumper and center caps on my truck a few times. One would even stick his head up in the fender well looking for that other tom. Jump up and flog the heck out of my truck while we stood 15 ft away and watched. Last time was a couple weeks ago and I had pulled my truck almost to the front door and they were less than 10 foot away. They sure provide us with cheap entertainment all the time.

I was at my reloading bench the other day, which has a window looking outside, when a turkey just passed by without a care in the world.
Funny thing is I was working on my camo paint job on my turkey gun.  :o It was in pieces.....  :(  ;D

Must be related to the turkeys here.  Some time back they decided to roost on the hot tub cover.  The hot tub sits on my back porch.  Had to literally kick them off the porch a few times before they caught on.  Thanks to the dogs, they stay farther out in the field nowadays but they still want to come back.

Those are some great pics  ;D   reminds me of what our chickens do when the feeder goes empty, they all climb onto the back porch and tap at the screen door with their beaks till you come out and feed them. That turkey musta been doing about the same.

Our wild  turkeys can't get into the yard because of the fences but will hang out on the road in front of the house and will happily follow our chicken flock up and down the fenceline. Come turkey season i rarely see one..they return to public behavior right after mating season ends.
