We saw the ISS one night not long after we moved out here when the yard was pretty clear of trees. They had mentioned it would be very visible that night and so we went out in the yard at that time of night. My cousin was over and me, him and Faye all watched it pass.
If you look at its orbital wave trajectory it flys right over Alabama ,Georgia, and Florida. The peak of that
wave is far north of where we live, so we can't catch it all the time. They zig zag like that to stay on course
is what I've been told. The ISS is not geosynchronous like most satellites are.
