Now I was late single digits to early double digits when these songs hit the airwaves, and I am going to come out and say, most fifties music to me , with few exceptions, is as enjoyable as early rap music.

BUT, some of these songs hit the airwaves the year our family went up to Duluth , Minn. for the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway locks and I remember hearing them on the portabal radio, in the back window of the 1950 Chevy dad had, that had no radio, so they bring back very good memories.If I liked a song, even to this day, I often pay zero attention to who actually recorded it so , I have to admit, I had NO IDEA who originally recorded Blue Moon, one of the few fifties songs that struck a positive note in me.

The later songs on your list are ones that also strike a positive note in my senses.

Bob, at least some of the songs helped you to remember. They started toning it up a bit in the early 1960s.
I still like those oldies and I can still remember when the Beatles showed up. Ed Sullivan helped with that
when he put them on his show.

Thank goodness no one is posting rap here. I think I would have to move it to the trash bin lol.

To each his own. My wife and I became adults in the late fifties. We keep SXM in the suv tuned to the fifties channel predominately. Of course there is crap music in every generation and the fifties has it's share. When some of that comes on it's an easy switch to the sixties or classic rock channels. I'll admit that most of the music, close to 1000 songs, on my phone is classic rock but here is some fifties in the mix.

It's still wet and sort of nasty outside this morning. I'm going to watch some rock-abilly on youtube and then some of the current crop of musicians that still turn out some good rock.
