imo the biggest thing that killed them was there sound. They sounded like a truck with an exhaust leak!! Buddy in town had an early one. I road in it and even drove it quite a bit. If you could cancel out the sound it was a wicked machine but no matter how fast you were going it had that flat exhaust note. What I allways wanted was one of those sr10 pickup trucks. Two wheel drive dodge with the viper v10. Still one of the quickest trucks ever made. If the cars would have sounded like a Ferrari or even a small block ford or chev they would have probably outsold corvettes.
