Multiculturalism, what a load of ...&#@%
« on: July 12, 2020, 12:02:39 PM »
We are American..we have our developed and refined culture, why should we want the added confusion of other, foreign cultures?
Long ago we developed our ideals and holidays etc...Thanksgiving, 4th of July, normalcy in relationships etc.   So, whyin blazes would or should we play Cinco de Mayo and other games.

All of our ancestors, as they arrived assimilated into the dominant culture.  Sure, we had traditions related to origins..thus we have German festivities, Scottish festivals, Italian fests and Irish fairs, held in reserved locations, or neighborhoods for a single day or such.
Yet, none of these groups insisted that we ALL participate in their specific practices, or make special holidays to observe their particular proclivity..

  We don't need forced "multiculturalism"..
"They have the guns and therefore we are for peace and for reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns, then it will be through the bullet"      (Saul Alinsky) ...hero of the left..

I believe you said what many of us are feeling. Politically correctness should not be forced on us, you can't shove "your" culture down our throats without resentment.

Every culture that immigrated here had difficulty in one way or another, be that Irish, Itallian, or what have you. Most were absorbed into the "melting pot" and enriched the American Culture. Now we're force-fed this you WILL embrace the 13% of the population by taking on their culture and forsaking your own. That mindset never worked in the past, and I don't see it becoming our new way of livng now either.

When children are forced into something they really don't like, some will go about trying to adapt, others will rebell. Adult Americans are generally willing to accept new peoples and cultures into their fold, but not at the expense of losing their own identities in the process.

Only time will show how this scenario will play out, but I don't see it ended well for anyone, and especially not for America.
