Anyone have a NEF 25-06?

I am thinking of adding one of the 25-06 barrels to my Ultra223 frame and would like to hear from anyone who has one .
Are they good shooters ?
What is the twist rate?
What grain bullets do you use(factory not reloads)?

I have one. Twist is 1-10. Shoots fair, but not outstanding. I'm still working on that, though.

Can't help you with the ammo. Ain't shot a factory centerfire round in 20 years or more.

I have a 25-06 Ultra. I don't reload so only shoot factory. I'm also looking for hunting accuracy, not benchrest, so am probably satisfied with less than most of the folks on this forum. Have had good success with 100 grain Core Lokts (+/- 1.5" @ 100 yds) and I'm happy with that. Have shot the 120 grain, same ammo, and it is about the same in mine. Surprising that the groups are close since the OAL for the 100 grain is considerably shorter than the 120's. These work for what I need.

I have a .25_06 barrel on my .223 Ultra. I get less than 1" at 100 using either  90 gr or 120 gr Sierra's. I couldn't get the 75 gr to group under 3" at 100.

I just got an Ultra 25-06 so I'm still in the initial stages of wringing it out.  I've tried some 90gr Sierra HPBT's that I had left over from a previously owned 25-06 with mixed results.  I'm currently trying to work up a load using the Sierra 75gr HP's with about the same success as PAShooter, about 3" at 100 yards.   I'm waiting for the rain to quit so I can get out to the range and try my latest loadings.  I'm sure the accuracy will improve as I get more wear on the barrel.
