Anyone have experience with the 350 legend?
« on: May 25, 2021, 09:55:09 AM »
I am looking at the CVA single shot rifle in 350 Legend wondering if any of you fellows have or have shot one?

Picked up a Savage Axis in 350 Legend early last year. Scoped it and bought 1 box of shells for it. Buddy stopped by just as I was shooting the last group. It went home with him and he loves it. I was impressed with the accuracy and he killed a pile of deer with it. For the non-reloader its a good choice. I prefer the 357 Maximum due to the wider selection of bullets.

Wal Mart has been getting in ammo every week for it and at 13.00 a box hard to turn down. I am looking at the scout as I like single shots I also have in a call to Jes Rebore to see if he can do a 350 as I have a TCR 83 223 barrel that I would like to get rebored if he can do one.

I wouldn't know a 350 legend if I saw one.

If you want to shoot factory ammo, the 350 Legend is a good choice. I have no experience with the CVA single shots, but I see enough positive reviews, that I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

Out of curiosity I looked it up. It seems to just be another attempt to duplicate the old thuty-thuty and not quite getting there.

It's intended target was for those who live in states that only allow straightwall cartridges for deer hunting.

I wish they would bring back the early muzzle loader season. That was a blast. The original. 1 deer. Buck only on 3 areas...

With so many shotgun states going straightwall now it may hang in there. The cartridge could have been soooo much better. I'm shocked a major gunmaker has not brought something better in a .358 caliber straightwall to market.

Problem is some of the states have a max length requirement on the case.

Put mine together using Starline 223 basic brass. 1.8" case length

There's sure a lot of guys buying them, and liking them...

IF, I lived where "straight walled" or shotguns, were the only legal choice, I'd be all over it.

Well Jes called last night said he does the 350 so I got out my 223 TCR 83 barrel boxed it up and it is on its way to Oregon. There are a number of members on here that have used his services and have nothing but good to say about him. We shall see. I really don't need another cal. gun but as they say need does not enter the equation, we have all been there haven't we. OH LOOK ANOTHER GUN. :) :) :)

You are certainly right about need. The gun making business would be doing pretty poorly if people only bough what they need instead of what they want. I didn't even think of the states that require straight wall only cartridges. Having lived so long in NM I forget about some of the goofy rules some states have  when it comes to firearms and hunting.
