where to get scope base for octagon barrel

I have a octagon 5mm Rem Mag barrel that I want to mount scope on.  This is my first octagon and not sure which/where to get a base.

you didn't say what kind of barrel, but assuming it is a contender barrel they all use the same mount.  good luck

YES, it is a contender.  I've been playing with these since I was 16 and talked my mother into buying a Armour Alloy frame for my father.  Got my first frame when I was 18 and now 15 years later, bought my first octagon barrel.  Never had an octagon before, so was unsure of the base situation.  Just rec'd a 5mm Rem Mag and 48 rounds of the rimfire ammo.   I also reloaded 20 rounds today of the centerfire conversion stuff.  Now just have to steal a base off another barrel and see how it shoots.....

I like the TC duo mount for my octagon barrels.  As someone commented in another thread, it looks like it belongs.  I have used weaver bases but they hang way over the octagon portion of the barrel.  Some folks don't like the TC duo mount because of the lack of fore-aft adjustment of the tube in the mount.  If your scopes have generous eye relief this is not a problem.

I have a couple of the older Weaver bases, I think they are a 92 and not 92A, that were made in the 70's-80's, that were made for octagon barrels.  The front of the base was relieved back to the screws, making a nice looking base, but I think it would weaken the base. I would only use it on a easy shooting round.
You might find one on some of the forums classified or maybe Ebay.
