Fishing Line
« on: May 07, 2021, 06:46:14 PM »
I've tried lots of different brands and
types of fishing lines over the years
for different purposes and styles of
fishing. Tried the old dacron and the
stiff monofilaments from the early
1970's and the then new Stren and
Spider Wire, and finally settled on
Trilene Big Game some time back.
I haven't had to buy any line for a
very long time because way back
when I bought the big spools of
Trilene and really didn't need any
for a long time. I did have to buy
some light test weight line the other
day, and I was really surprised at
how high quality of line can be
had for very little money.
Way back when, decent line was
pretty expensive relatively speaking.
I need to add I've never bought any
of the fluorocarbon line and
don't intend to.
I bought a medium spool of line
for about 2 dollars. 700 yards
Still have several 3000 yard spools
of the heavier weight lines.

I guess they haven't figured a way to
create a shortage of fishing line and
initiate a panic buying spree, or maybe
they just haven't gotten a roundtuit yet
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Fishing line lasts a little longer then bullets or primers. That is probably why there is no shortage. Heck,I haven't even heard of anybody getting killed with a fishing rod yet, well, except by lightening so politics don't come into play either. :)

Don't be too quick on that.  I remember some years back PETA was trying to claim that fishing was "cruel and inhumane".    :o

I used to work with a bunch of men
that fished bass tournaments back
when that was really popular here
They told me one time that there was
some people there boo hooing about
being " cruel to fish " etc. etc. blah blah
I think they got tossed out IIRC.
Been 20+ years ago
I was more concerned with some of the
dingleberry idiots waking my boat while
I was fishing
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Unless its changed since yesterday, bass tournaments are still huge in your area.
