Which one stays?
« on: March 05, 2004, 04:06:37 AM »
I have a Marlin 1894CL 32-20 and a 1894 Cowboy in .357. If you needed to get rid of one gun, which gun would you keep and why? I use them mostly for plinking, varmints, small game, etc. Any input would be appreciated. I need to get rid of one so I can get something different. Thanks,

Getting rid of a Marlin carbine?

That Marlin 1894 carbine in .32-20 was limited production and is a collector's item today.  There must be plenty of collectors that want it!

The 1894CB in .357 is still current production.  It is the more versatile of the two with it's ability to digest any .38 Special/.357 Magnum ammo.

Why sell at all?  Why not just add to your collection?

Common sense (to me anyway) dictates keeping the CL.
As mentioned above, it is a limited run collectible and highly prized as such.  I have one in 218Bee that "ain't going nowhere".
The 357 can be had again if you miss it that much.
