Does every generation think this??
« on: May 11, 2021, 11:59:46 AM »
I think the world is going to hell in a handbasket. Did we think the same thing in the 60's Nam, hippies, drugs ect.? How about our fathers in the 40's the world at war, commies? The generation before with WW I and the depression? Does this ship always right itself and continue on?
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.”

In the years past. We always had free and fair elections.  Now we don't, which a is huge difference to anything that might have gone on in past decades.  We have lost our ability to elect who will represent us and write our laws. That is a game changer and compares to nothing we may have went through in the past. Right now the radical left is even looking to pass election laws that will guarantee no future free and fair elections.
Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.    Wm. Penn

In this region, things have definitely
gotten way worse.
When I was small, we could venture
away from home without causing
any worry to our parents because
all these child predators were relatively
an unknown unheard of thing.
Just be home before the streetlights
came on to prevent a butt busting.
Crime as we know it now was
unknown. If somebody got a hubcap
stolen, the neighborhood talked
about it for a year. In high school
the most controversial thing that
happened was a guy brought out
one of the old jack handle/lug wrenches
and was going to bash a guy with
it for vandalizing his vehicle.

Now, there's killings and shootings
and rampant drug abuse and sales
within easy rock throwing distance
wherever you live within 2 hours of
driving distance in any direction.

( had a photo of the shooting across
the street, but it won't post because of
too many something-something, photos
limited to blah blah etc.  Just picture
any shooting in your head with a dozen
squad cars and it'll be close enough)

Last year I sold my house in the capital that I had inherited. As I was loading the last load of many, there was an incident on the front lawn. Four policemen were wrestling with a man that was brandishing a butcher knife. It took several applications of a taser to finally bring the incident under control. An ambulance arrived promptly to treat the self inflicted knife cuts. I was so glad that I had received payment for the house and was an hour from leaving the area permanently. It is a far different world than the 50s and 60s when I was a youngster.

I believe the ship has had a list every since Vietnam and the list has gotten worse with every event. The list is to the port side and not starboard and is the worst I have seen in my lifetime. Much farther and she will  roll over and sink.

At 71 years old and retired LE, I've seen a lot. Have I seen the worst? Maybe in small increments. Can it get worse? Oh yeah.

I've seen desperation, even experienced it to a certain level, but not day after day.

The generations alive today have not experienced constant hunger, and fear.

But the way it's looking, it might.

My folks grew up without anything
other than an extra set of clothing.
When they were young, everything
they owned could be carried in a
walmart sack with room for more.
All you'd have to do today would be
to go door to door confiscating
smart phones, and the nation
would be in a turmoil worse than
a nuclear exchange would cause
The greater majority of 21st century
people are basically helpless.
I don't think that's stretching things
in any way
