.
It was a few years ago, when I helped our town historian set up a display at the county fair.  Bill was meticulous. I say was, because Bill is gone now.

Anyway, the display featured photos of schools located in the county, and class photos from the 1920s through the 1950s.

After setting up the display, I couldn't help but notice...  Unlike today, truly obese students were quite rare in those days.

I graduated high school in 1954, among a class of 96, I remember only one classmate (a girl), who would be considered obese.

Strange, what has .. Junk food? little labor?  Sedentary living? Too much electronics?

It can't be genes, because for the most part, they are the grandchildren of those who attended school in the 1950s.

Now, don't confuse the reunion photos with the student photos..weight changes over the years.  ;) :D ;D
Some sample photos below...  What do you think is the cause ?

My guess is processed food, all these preservatives can't be good for you.

Go to your grocery store and stand by and look at the food that is in their cart about 90 percent is junk food. I only have 2 choices for food WalMart or cox saver, which is a rip off. I see people in electric wheel chairs that are at least 200 lbs over weight and most if not all is what I would class as junk food pop, chips, cookies, white bread, hot dogs, lunch meat. and the cheapest hamburger loaded with fat Etc. very sad.
