You have an annoying habit of telling people what they are saying.

Funniest thing I've heard all day, see your own comments below.

Quote
So what you're saying is everything you don’t agree with is by reflex liberalism.

You have an annoying habit of telling people what they are saying, I'm saying that if the government forces you to purchase a product by force it is not conservatism. See Obamacare. I thought conservatives believed in small and limited government? Now you're trying to tell me that corrupt car insurance lobbyists who successfully lobbied politicians in 49 states into passing laws that force drivers by law to buy their insurance is a conservative principle? Wow that's frightening.

Quote
Nobody is forced to drive or forced to own a vehicle, so no insurance needed....Driving is a voluntary activity
In most areas of this country you need a vehicle to exist. In a free country I should not be FORCED to move to a Democrat run cesspool city just so I can get by without a car therefore I need a car. Since I need a car I shouldn't be FORCED to buy insurance.

Quote
Does Matt speak for you?

No but I agree with what he said, if you're too lazy to go back and read what he said it's on you.

Quote
I asked you for your impressions since you're ADAMENTLY against insurance bonds.

That's hilarious coming from a guy who just said "You have an annoying habit of telling people what they are saying.". Show me where in this thread where I said I was ADAMANTLY against insurance bonds. I already told you I carry car insurance, I'm only against the GOVERNMENT FORCING ANYONE TO BUY INSURANCE.

Quote
Interesting.  If he saw you're from NH I wonder why the officer bothered to even ask you for insurance proof.

He obviously didn't look at my plate and didn't realize I was from NH until he saw my license.

Quote
But if you hate liberal laws like insurance requirements,  and hate greedy insurance corps and hate driver regulations; then why did you even compromise your values and scheme of things, and buy auto insurance in the first place since you reside in insurance free NH?

You have an annoying habit of telling people what they are saying, see above.

Life and liberty where you guys live is just too complicated for me.

Like Richard, at law used today. He only argued if he got paid too......

I read most of this but Matt’s copy was just a bit more than I could handle. Remember I lived on a Indian island Rez for 15 years. More than half the population didn’t own a car and we traveled all over Alaska. Kinda want to lock the ranch gate and order my groceries from Amazon. I like life when it’s simple.

So, which of the 'encroachments' listed below, should be done away with ?

   Health and safety regulations are not always "government tyranny"!  We elect governments for mutual safety.

   Governments are expected to do for the people, the things the people cannot do for themselves..

  A) The government should have been even more alert, where Bernie Madoff was concerned.

  B) If the Chinese were to try raiding the Alaskan fisheries, thank goodness the US government may intervene.

  C) Forest fires may be more of a challenge, if each property owner were left to his own devices.

 D) It is comforting to know that our food and medicines are relatively safe.

 E) Airlines running willy-nilly about the country, competing for fares, without federal safety inspections, may cause problems.

  F) When you fill the tank on your car/truck..do you want 20 gals when you pay for 20 gals?  Do you want 93 octane when you pay for 93 octane, or would 77 octane be fine with you ?

   ..And this list could be yards long...

   At this very time, there is an experiment going on, featuring many thousands of people who are acting in concert to ignore reasonable laws and restrictions, so does the situation presently transpiring on our southern border, get your voice of approval?

Not one of those things you mentioned involves the government forcing you to buy a product against your will, try again.

Not one of those things you mentioned involves the government forcing you to buy a product against your will, try again.

  A) Helps me to avoid buying a completely non-existent product.

 B) may help me protect a business i already bought.

 C) Would not force me to buy some very expensive fire fighting equipment.

 D) Would not force me to expensive medical assistance/treatments.

 E) May keep me from buying funerals..they are expensive.

 F) Will keep me from paying full price for a substandard product..or replacing an engine.

 .....So the trade off isn't too bad ..

   When the government does your "hands off" thing..and the border is flooded with illegals, so most here on GBO end up buying many dollars worth of food, clothing, shelter, food stamps, medical services and other items,which none of us need.

     There are some few 'governments', such as Somalia, that seeming practice a "hands off" position... but of course, few people there drive.

 Quoting DB...
"Not one of those things you mentioned involves the government forcing you to buy a product against your will"

  Nobody 'forces' you to buy anything...my Amish neighbors are not forced insure their horses and buggies!  The license/insurance costs on my 50cc scooter are quite low.

  Such costs it seems are relative to how much damage an irresponsible driver can do.

Yeah because it's a real hard concept to figure out that I don't want the government to FORCE me to buy a product against my will. Health insurance is a good thing to have, just like car insurance. It doesn't mean I want the government to FORCE me to buy it. In case you haven't figured it out yet, FORCE is the key word.

It's hilarious that two guys who claim to be "conservatives" are sitting here telling me that it's a good thing to have a government who forces us to buy products against our will because it's for the greater good. You can't make this shyt up.

  Interesting how you keep coming back to  conservative vs liberal thing..but I guess that's your bag..

  I am not interested in talking legalese or split infinitives, but as a responsible, mature and conscientious man.

  My concern is for others who use the highways.  With today's medical costs and etc it is something to consider.

  I would hope this never happens to any of us, but there is the potential that we could have an accident involving

  a fully occupied family van, where we could be at fault..and bills to that family could run to a  couple million dollars.

    I don't know about you, but I don't have a couple million laying around to cover such costs.  So how is it a

    conservative value to have a  "devil may care" attitude toward our neighbors?  Sorry, but I think it is the

    essence of a  conservative/Christian, to be thoughtful of others.

For me. The point here is. You can’t make someone do the right or wrong thing. We sure don’t need the government in charge of making laws and enforcing them on every aspect of our lives. Of course, the government does such a fine job of everything they get there hands on...

In NH nobody is forcing you to buy auto insurance, and you said you can drive in neighboring states with no problem. Frankly, after your numerous posts about being forced and whatever, come to find out you're not being forced to get insurance in NH yet you bought insurance.  Just curious why after all the rigamaroll about being forced _ _ just sounds a little bit hypocritical.

TM7"

I've already explained to you multiple times in this thread that I have no problem with car insurance. I love New Hampshire for not forcing me to buy it. Live Free or Die. You're the one who criticized NH for not FORCING people to buy car insurance, not me. Let people decide for themselves whether to buy a product or not is what a true small government person would say. You on the other hand, claiming to be a conservative while advocating for a government FORCED purchase is hypocritical.

What is also hypocritical is to ask people to stop putting words in your mouth while you yourself are putting words in people's mouths so I'll summarize it once more for you:

1. I have no problem with car insurance, I buy it myself (I've already said this multiple times in this thread).
2. I do have a problem with any government who FORCES me to buy car insurance (I've already said this multiple times in this thread).

So you believe that the government forcing people to be thoughtful of others is "conservative/Christian"? It sure sounds like statism to me. The bottom line is what you're advocating is a law that forces people to buy a product. You can dance around that fact however you want but that's what you're advocating. I was always taught that conservatives believed in small government, not forcing people to buy a product against their will. Silly me I guess. The founding fathers would roll in their graves at the concept of government forced insurance.

I agree. You often hear conservatives say things like "you can't legislate morality" which I agree with but some here are advocating for the government to do just that.

  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  I have often heard that phrase applied also..but usually it seems to be the liberal trying to justify drugs, perversion or some other dysfunctional lifestyle.
Wanting a government that doesn't force me to buy a product is trying to avoid responsibility? You guys must be taking lessons from the mainstream media in propaganda.
P.S.
Many pro 2A conservatives use the "you can't legislate morality" phrase in response to leftists trying to enact gun control laws.
