JUNETEENTH HOLIDAY SENDS FEDERAL RESERVE, NYSE SCRAMBLING
It marks the day in 1865 when a Union general informed a group of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas that they had been made free two years earlier by President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation during the Civil War.

Just make every day a paid holiday for Government workers since they can't seem to get much done when they are working anyway. For those of us in the private sector, Juneteenth will be just another day we don't get mail. Not a big deal anyway since we don't get mail some days as it is now anyway.
Regardless, the next stop on Liberal's racist route will be reparations. If you're white, you have already been found guilty of having white skin. Yet we currently have black kids killing other blacks and the ancestors of those kids (living mother and father included) apparently are exempt from any responsibility.
30 years from now they will have "Social Media Day" celebrations. Statues of social media giants will be adorned with flowers and speeches will be given to honor those who brought our society to the utopia of complete control. I weep for my granbabi

What do you have against celebrating the end of slavery? (As a strong conservative, that's a genuine question, how could you be against celebrating emancipation?)
Chicago already celebrates this every weekend.
So does Alabama by marrying there cousins
Good idea for companies that want to save their windows, prevent vandalism, have their buildings burned to the ground and see riots outside their businesses As well as their employees cars burned in the parking lots. Call it the 'Strongarm Day Off'.
Juneteenth isn’t a word. It sounds uneducated and it reduces the respect from the source in which it comes.

It’s actually Early American Ebonics.
Senile joe is also uneducated and has no respect.
I have no problem with Juneteenth being a federal holiday. When we started this best nation ever, we had some serious flaws, slavery being one of them. But the founders were aware of them, and were smart enough to craft our Constitution in a way that allowed us to come to terms with those flaws and correct them. AND WE DID!!! We should ALL celebrate the end of slavery as a great reconciliation that started us on a road to celebrating the content of our character instead of the color of our skin. The Democrats opposed that then, and the oppose it today. If we could just get BIPOC to wake up and see the Democrats for the oppressors they are, we'd all be reconciled by now!
