Thompson Center accuracy "Tolerances "
« on: March 06, 2004, 05:30:01 PM »
I sent a encore .45 back to Thompson because the barrel was rough as a cob and the accuracy was erratic.  They sent it back with a note that the barrel had been "polished" and the rifle had been shot using TC shockwaves w/ 2 pyrodex pellets and was found to be within Thompson's accuracy tolerances.  Anyone know what this means?

I sent another .50 Encore in because it shot low and the return note said the barrel had been lasered then a 3 x 9 Thompson Center scope was mounted and (2) 5 shot groups fired at 100 yards using 2 Pyrodex pellets and 250 gr. Shockwave bullets and the groups measured under 1 1/2"
The note also said the barrel did not shoot low and the scope had plenty of adjustment.

Both guns came back with new updated breech plugs and were cleaned very well.

I do appreciate a company that would go that far to test their product for you and then return a clean gun but would really like to know what their accuracy "tolerances" are.
