  While I don't agree with ANY publicly  erected statue to be pulled down, spray painted or otherwise vandalized, I do have to wonder what makes some minds tick.

  We have just gone through a childish phase, where mobs of hooligans pulled down and otherwise defaced the statues erected to recognize some REAL HEROES..  Then along comes a crowd who want to make some kind of tawdry hero of a life long serial felon...
