A sad comment on our military..
« on: July 18, 2021, 01:59:38 AM »
.
It appears to me that the Obama years were utilized to pervert the military, by promoting in rapid fashion, those who were sympathetic to his causes, rather than for their military competence.

In 2007, this dude was a colonel, yet in just those few years, he had gained 4 stars..

I would say the "sad comment" should be directed specifically at the military leadership.

Correct Dee, I should have said some of the top brass...

CNN says Gen Milley and Co. were afraid Pres Trump would pull a coup.  Hah!  Coup against who?  Trump is the president, who would he be pulling a coup against ?

No, I see it as the deep stater mob thinking he was going to dump some of THEIR lying butts !  If he came in and changed the whole Chiefs of Staff, it seems that would be his perogative, especially since that is just what Obama did.

Sadly, when Trump sought advice on appointments from trusted , he apparently was unknowingly speaking with an under cover deep state operator.  I suspect that is how some bad, out of his character appointments were made.

I guess its inevitable in the long run. As our society excepts more and more of this liberalism and socialism chridren will be exposed to more of it and it will change the norms of how we old timers think. Yup its tough for me to blame the soldiers and put it all at the feet of the leadership but bottom line is this has been going on in the military for MANY years. Those leaders pushing it were the boots on the ground soldiers 20 years ago. I look at how many of our miltary leaders went against trump in that last election and it wasnt just one or two. Many did and many flag officers. Look at the one pushing critical race theroy today. Liberals are slowly taking over our military. Iron glow and i served close to the same time frame and im sure he can tell you that sometime in the early 70s change started. You had the old school nco's and officers and the new more polished type. When i was in enlisted clubs were packed every night and the local bars too. Now your more likely to see a soldier in a gym or jogging then having a beer or smoking a cigarette. Give you a good example. My nephew is in the navy. A e4 machinist mate. He was in his engine room working on a valve with two e2s on a girl. He was tightening a nut and his hand slipped and smashed in the valve. He blurted out F. The girl told the chief and he was wrote up and had a captains mass and got a 200 dollar fine and restriction to the ship for 2 weeks. Just for saying something that was used at least 3 times in any sentence about any subject when i was in. It will stay in his record and could effect him reenlisting and him getting his good conduct ribbon. This isnt the military that most of us grew up in. Ive told people before that the way i wear it on my sleeve id have never made it through 4 years let alone the 8 i did. Ive even contemplated whether i could have made it the full 20. One of my buddys i served with did 20 and we talk at least once a year and his storys of how liberal things got and how much he had to bite his tong makes me wonder.  John Wayne and Vic Morrow have been replaced by tom cruise and Patrick Swazi
