Non-resident Turkey hunting

:D Because I screwed up and didn't get the application in on time, I'm not getting a turkey permit in WI. Has anyone hunted out of state,do it your self for turkeys. I'm looking for an area to hunt and a huntable population of turkeys. I was thinking of South Dakota or maybe Mo. Any suggestions? :?

:D Hi Fred<
Of course I would recomend coming to Pennsylvania! We are crawling with turkey in about 90% of the state. We have thousands of acres of public land, and a licence can be bought over the counter for spring turkey.I have already seen very large flocks this spring of about 60 birds plus.I sometimes hear 8-10 gobblers sounding off at dawn.My buddy and I have located over 100 different turkeys in our pre-season scouts.
As far as Missouri goes,I have never hunted there, but my nephew goes every year and does real well.He claims there are very few hunters and LOTS of turkey.GOOD LUCK
