This Old Truck,
« on: September 01, 2021, 01:25:44 AM »
The clear coat is peeling, the paint is faded, and its lost its shine.

The upholstery is worn, and the padding in the seats have shifted.

There's dents here and there, and the chrome is missing in places.

The suspension is almost worn out, and the front end wobbles, if you try to go too fast.

The tires are getting slick, and they loose traction even smooth dry pavement.

The radio only picks up one old station.

The bed is starting to rot out and can only haul small, light loads.

The engine has a couple of misses in it, and it sputters when tryin to accelerate.

It has trouble getting out into traffic, and out of the newer vehicles way.

The transmission is hung in low gear, and and goes pretty slow which aggravates the newer models.

The gas gauge quit working some time back  so I don't know how long it'll keep running.

The brushes in my generator are getting short and their springs are weak.

But I've still got spark in my distributor, and I ain't giving up just yet.

In a couple of ways it's like my old truck.  In May, it was 22 years old (I bought it new in 99) and the paint has faded badly.
But, it still runs like a new one and doesn't use a drop of oil. (only 83000 miles)

My last old Truck (Really old) was a 1973 Chev. I don't believe they used a clear coat back then.

Expecting a picture of an old truck, but that'll do.

Since I've been truck shopping as of late, it appears now is a great time to be an old truck; its a seller's market!

My daily driver is a 66 Ford F100, pretty much original other than an aftermarket horn. It is a little rusty and crusty but it suits my needs going to town and back and working around my place.
