I am thinking about installing a removable turkey choke in a 21 in. I/C slug barrel. Do you think the short barrel will hamper the long range performance much?

The 21" slug barrel should work fine.  Remington and others make turkey guns that come with 21" barrels so you'll be fine.  I've heard and read that most shotgun loads reach max velocity at 21" anyway.  You should be good to go!

Hi i had a gunsmith tell me that all the powder of the shell is burn up in 18 inchs of the barrel i dont know how much truth they r to it But about all your turkey guns come with a shorter barrel than the guns used to have on them i have a SP 10ga with a 23 inch barrel and a Super 90 12 3 inch with a 21 inch barrel and if i had my way the Super black eagle would have a 24 inch barrel but it has a 26 inch barrel  But i got the new black eagle at the price of a Super 90 12 ga for in the woods hunting i Love the short barrels for turkey hunting any more the short barrels is the only way to turkey hunt each person likes some thing diff. I BOUGHT A REMINGTON 870 EXPRESS IN A 12 GA 3 INCH , WITH A 28 INCH BARREL , I BOUGHT A HASTINGS 665 CHOKE AND IT OUT SHOT ANYTHING WE PUT AGAINST IT, BUT I DIDNT LIKE THE LONG BARREL, I HAD A GUN SMITH CUT IT DOWN TO 21 INCHES AND IT PATTERENED THE SAME AS BEFORE WITH THE LONG BARREL,  LONEBRAVE

PLUS, ANYBODY KNOW HOW I CAN TURN THIS GUL_DURN CAPS LOCK OFF?

i have the exact same experience as lonebrave except i bought a new 870 instead of cutting my old one down, and the new one with a 24" barrel patterns the same as the 28" did.
