i got all this stuff from a guy for $125.00.i got 100 rounds of loaded 44mag x 308 ammo,100  44mag brass,75 rounds of loaded 357mag ammo and RCBS reloading dies for the odd ball cal.boy i dont know what i will do with the wildcat stuff but they came with the rifle.
these barrels were made up by a H@R gun nut who passed away some years ago.i dont know how they shoot yet but i couldnt pass on them.this rifle weighs in at 5lbs 4oz.with the 444 barrel on this frame it should hit your shoulder hard to say the least.

i tried to edit this info on my first post but it wouldnt take

I have never seen that caliber, but I'll bet at the velocities it produces, the 130gr soft point would ope nicely.  Or else the 150gr 30-30 bullet.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

Jeff, looks like you definitely got the best end of that deal. I never run across anything nearly as good.    How many sets of dies came with it, other than the .308X.44 wildcat dies? You're planning on doing the Max with the .357 barrel, right? 8)

RV,i never got the PM from you.send me another if you want.

308,i got two sets of dies with this rifle.one for the 44mag x 308 and one set for the 30 harret.i will buy some 357mag dies too.i am going to try the 357mag barrel out and see how acccurate it is before i rechamber if.it it shoots good i might leave it as is.these barrels were made up by someone other than H@R and i hope they are good shooters.

handirifle,i never seen anything like this 44mag wildcat either.i think its a one of a kind.it will be something fun to play with

Excellent. I Hope all the barrels work out good for you. What a deal. 8)  8) BTW, I called H&R about an hour ago, still no .44 barrels, but they told me my .357 barrel was with my receiver. I'm gonna give it a couple more weeks to see if they get the .44 barrels. C/S guy says the .44 barrels are still on the way as far as he knows. We'll see.  :?

If some one could get a hold B. Goforth, see if he would join
us here. He was very interesting with his comments. I haven't
seen any post from him, did some search. Jeff if you was made
in the 80's it should  have two letters at begin of serial no.

Only excuse I can think of for that .308x44Mag is for a cast bullet shooter. You don't wanna push cast bullets very fast and you don't want air space in the case so the small case makes sense for that purpose. My guess is that it's meant to take 4198 or 5744 and 150 or 170 grain cast bullets.
