Well Dee, I’m glad you wised up and joined the NRA again. America needs the support. I’ve been a lifer for about 20 years.

And I don’t need a NRA membership to shoot at my range either. I just step out the back door and shoot.

LOL, Wised up and joined? Good one. ;)

More like "forced vaccination". You can't join the club, without the card. ;)

I don't smoke crack OR drink coffee, or do any other illegal drugs and never have.

I've been a NRA member since I can't remember when, and I never joined for life, just so I could quit them any time I wanted.  I figured by joining each year, really I was giving more money to them than joining for life and that has worked out to be true.

But, I've had enough!  Wayne is still there stinking the place up, sucking the hind tit for every dollar he can get, living like a king!!  I'm fed up with him and fed up with many of the things he's done, so when my membership runs out, I don't plan to rejoin!  I believe GOA is a MUCH better organization and I'll back them more.

The only way to get rid of Wayne and get the NRA back on track, is to hit them in the pockets!!

I did not rejoin the NRA as of last November. I'm tired of the money they waste with constant mailings, the junk they give away to entice membership, all the phone calls,  and of course the extravagant salaries by board members.  Lapierre's salary isn't even the highest. Kayne Robinson a executive director of operations makes more than Wayne. Add up all the travel expenses, vacation expenses that he uses funds for, plus other perks, and it just adds to his million dollar salary. The NRA has become like a big government bureaucracy that wastes money, and is inefficient.  I'm done sending them money, until they quit robbing members.

100%! If I find another place to shoot, I'll be gone. This club gets their over priced insurance from NRA, and has likely never checked for cheaper rates, and older members seem to be running the club, so they're locked into NRA.

Long time members of NRA seem to be like old Democrats. "My granddaddy was a Democrat, his granddaddy was a Democrat, my daddy was a Democrat, therefore, I'M A DEMOCRAT!
Long time NRA members seem oblivious as to what the NRA has become.

Actually as far as I can tell, the only way for members to change things would be a stealth program running many years and costing many $. That's because to get on the board you have to be on the ballot, the board has to put you there. There is no way for an independent candidate to get on the ballot or to contact the membership. For the board to"nominate" you, you have to be well known, wealthy donor, "loyal" to the present leadership, and a life member. If you deviate from the party line, you will be out. Just like that Lt Col that was in the Contra mess. He got put in as president and then fired when he didn't support the power behind the throne. Sorry, that is the way it has worked for the last 50+ years.

The NRA is like most Republicans in the House and Senate. They talk a good talk to their constituents, and members, and cave in when bills are passed that effect our rights and freedoms. They love to compromise! I have very little use either of them. I don't think Dee has either, but in his case it's worth the bucks to have a place to shoot. I'm lucky to have lots of of public land close by to set up firing ranges on. Most don't have that available to them.
