I find it a waste of time to worry about the fate of a country that voluntarily handed over their only real means of defending themselves against humanity, which also means their own government.

They have no means with which to protest beyond rioters, that the government should it choose to, squash in an hour.
I'm aware that possibly 2 or 3% of their population likely hid, rather than turn in their weapons.
