Olive salad for the muffuletta sandwiches
« on: December 09, 2021, 04:08:36 PM »
Anybody make any of the olive
salad mixture?
I was about to try to make some
and I was wondering if anyone had
made it, and if there was a something
or other to avoid. Looks pretty
straightforward, but there's always a
Murphy hiding in there somewhere

I’ve never had olive salad, but I dearly love green olives stuffed with pimentos.
Post your recipe and I’ll try it.

Don't have a solid recipe yet
I've been perusing a few and culling
those with stuff I don't like.  You'll
be pleased to know that most all the
decent looking recipes have pimento
stuffed green olives as a common ingredient

I've not made any myself. I've bought it
and the sandwiches in south Loozeeanna
and was recently gifted a big jar of just
the olive salad, and I decided I would try
to make some myself. I can usually
make things I like as well as the stuff
that the pros sell for the big bucks.
( except for tres leches cakes. I'll pay
someone else.   :D )

I've had a few
The best ones are made around NOLA
along with the po boy sandwiches.
I think it's mostly the bread they use
and that they cook everything and don't
serve anything half raw
