...Can't put off the inevitable..
« on: December 04, 2021, 02:09:47 AM »
.
Turning most of my blacksmith shop over to my grandson...but still will keep a hand in the art.  I just want to go to a smaller shop in part of our barn/garage .
So, since I am going to smaller. lighter weight forges.  Keeping that in mind, I am assembling this small, modern gas forge..  However, I am also reserving a small, portable coal forge..

I will make a report after using..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gniZXNxXL60

Pretty good looking rig, especially considering it's cost.

Nice outfit.

Now for those who read this and don’t know, I will tell them that Ironglow is a real artist with a forge and hammer.
I have seen the most beautiful fence in his Church, in front of the altar as he presented it to the Church and explained its meaning to the congregation.
It’s full of intricate figures and statuettes explaining the history of mainly the New Testament and JESUS.

I’ve never seen anything tell that history like that fence did.

Apparently his talent manifested itself in his grandsons.

Oh, and he has huge hands. :)

Some details of items commissioned for public buildings an institutions.

Top: "Book of the month" display stand..  The candlestick stands for enlightenment.

Bottom, details for easel commissioned by Garden Club ladies, and donated to library.

Used for instructing classes, displaying other's art work!

Some random shots of work here and there.

Top; Gate for older couple..to keep pet dogs out of their bedroom.

Middle:  We use old monkey wrenches to put a twist in railing rails for instance, but that requires a balancing handle to keep even pressure..like tapping a screw hole..soihere's the handle.

Third: small tray stand for cards and monetary gifts at wedding..

Bottom:  Porch gate I designed for a man who is a historian and Indian legend collector (note feather motif).
He commissioned it..asking me to do the design.  ..But that is how I do all projects.. His address 25 Pine st..

Actually; designing projects in my head, usually takes longer than executing them in the shop.  Certain projects I have mulled over certain details in my head for a week..before applying heat !
I wouldn't like to contemplate the hours I spent planning the one-of-a-kind church railing.

When you get that baby fired up, let's see some more artwork.
