A couple of minutes in a skillet or
griddle changes baloney to the better
as far as flavor and cooks some of the
grease out.  Somebody showed me
to cut a radius slit in the piece and it
doesn't curl itself inside out
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

There is a restaurant 20 miles from me and every Wednesday they have a Bologna buffet: I tried it once but I can make it just a well at home, BUT, the home made bread they make is fantastic.
The only thing i would leave out of the original recipe is Pickle Relish, never liked sweet relish of any sort.

I've got a large non-stick griddle and a bacon press for my bologna.
When I buy my bologna at the Walmart deli, I have them slice it about 3/8" thick, and then fry them till they have a good char like your hot dogs. ;D     YUM!!!!!!

i just fixed another 'baloney salad' sandwich for dinner tonight.  More convinced than ever, it will be a regular with me.  I have regularlytried to keep some egg salad on hand for sandwiches..and now I will add baloney salad..

My favorite way to eat them is grilled.  I spray the griddle with pam, toast it then lift the sandwich off, spray more pam and flop the sandwich over and toast the other side.
If Nancy's not at home, I smear butter on each side of the sandwich and toast it that way. :)

We have a 3-4 brands of hot dog in my area, that ar mde with natural casings, or at least casings made of meat itself, just like in the old days.
They are about half again as long as national brands, and more costly, being made by specilty companies.

There is one brand I will not buy..since they are obviously very cheap (85 to 99 cents for 12 oz) and likely have much "fillers".  I do get them for my old dog...she gets about half a hot dog sliced atop  her dry food, and seems to look forward to it.
