Is there any interest in the small calibers?

The folks in my area can barely shoot anyway,
and the majority these days are fixated with
doing magazine dumps when they can get
by with it and not get the boot from the rangemaster.
From my observations maybe 20% of the
shooters at public ranges actually work toward
accuracy, zero checking rifles, checking different
loads, etc.
I haven't been lately. Last year the big thing was
having all your gear so as to look like an " operator "
wearing all the tactical gear, vests, reloading from
magazine pouches, swat type clothes, etc.
Oh well.  .

At my range the range master will time shots to prevent magazine dumps.
It's no quicker than one shot per second or you are dismissed.

Addressing the powder question, the case is full of Trail Boss, but the bullets may be unstable flying that slow point forward. Just wanted to see if I could get something like .22 mag velocity out of the .223. seems maybe if the bullets are point to the rear it will work.

I found a Trail Boss load that works well in a 223. A 40GR Varmageddon over 7 grains of Trail Boss ignited by a Remington 7 1/2 primer. I found this load posted on RFC, found it to be accurate enough to 25 yards, the only distance I tested it at.

LOL, yeah I'd a lot rather sit next to a 4 or 6" barreled 44 magnum than a 16" barrelled AR.

there lies the reason i got rid of my hornets. Not really much varmint action up here and i can handload cast bullets in my 223s down to hornet velocities. Can do it even in an ar15 if i run it by hand. But if i want more i can aways load full power jacketed loads. Makes it much more versatile then a hornet. Add to that the brass is hard to find and it takes a 224 bullet which arent always easy to find and that makes the 223 make alot more sense.

Shoot only Cast Bullets in My 223 Handi and 22 Hornet

The 222, 223, Bolt Actions, and 223 Contender get Jacketed....

 I have a Savage 340 in .22 Hornet and a Winchester model 43 in .218 Bee. Also have a Remington m25 Pump in 25-20 . Last I counted I had two 22-250's and 3 .243's . Would love to have a .250 Savage and a .257 Roberts .

I have a 25-20 barrel for my G2s, made by MGM. It is very accurate using 70GR Sierras and Lil Gun powder. I have thought of having one of my Ruger #1s rebarreled in 25-20 but I am not sure it would be as accurate. The G2 will put five in a pretty small hole at 50 yards if it isn't too windy.
