Question For DIY Kydex Holster
« on: November 14, 2022, 07:01:35 PM »
I want to build a Kydex holster. Its my first time so have some basic questions to ask.

As I have watched many YouTube videos, I am still not clear on the gun molds. Rather than a mold, can I use the gun itself to form the kydex shell? ? Is there any risk to harming the gun when putting it in a heat press?
 Thank You!

It will not hurt the weapon, I had a local company use mine to do one because they didn't have my model with a laser grip, worked fine, and came out decent.  Just make sure it's unloaded, not that it will cook off any rounds, but why risk it.  And make sure it is in an "as carried" condition, safety lever, hammer (if revolver) etc, that way it will have a perfect fit.
