I have had the same picture over my fireplace for some months now, so I decided I wanted something new.
I recalled a photo my son took quite a few years ago..and realized I truly liked that photo. not only for the composition and color, but how it spoke to me so personally.
In the foreground, It illustrates my love for country.. my country (USA) and how my heart is in THE country.
Not country like some rhinestone cowboy...who rides a mechanical bull, but one who lives and loves country life for whatever it is in his own area. I don't wear spurs, because I haven't earned them..
I avoid going to any city as much as I possibly can..
This photo was taken about 3-4 miles from my house.
It also spoke to me a favorite verse..as I look into the distant hills..here partly concealed in snow and mist. Yet my road ahead is firmly pointed in that direction.
Alas, I realized it could not be enlarged to anywhere near a 24"X30" size or more, because it was snapped with the old film camera.
The verse... " I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121: 1,2)
