I can't see any opposition to it, and even most industry is in favor of it.  It will take some getting used to, but I am all for it.

Arizona did put themselves on std. time year round. If I remember correctly they opted out when the rest of the country went to daylight savings time. When I lived there, part of the year we matched New Mexico and part of the year we matched California.

By the way, I can't remember ever getting any extra hours of daylight. Just a head game.

  I think it was a WW2 thing. Daylight saving time would ostensibly allow factories to run their 8 hours during daylight hours..thus saving on electricity..

  Did it make a difference?  I don't know, but during WW2 most industries were working much more than 8 hours..for the war effort.

   Now will AZ join in with Daylight Saving Time?

I could be wrong here but I think the US went on daylight savings time twice once during WWII and then again later when I was in grade school in the 50s. I remember the farmers in Nebraska where we lived thought it didn't change anything because they still had to get up before the sun and work till it went down.

Maybe instead of dst we have school saving lives time change. So only time change for schools. Maybe even a shorter school day. I mean how much do they need to indoctrinate children anyhow?
