Unrest in San Antonio after police fatally shoot criminal
« on: March 15, 2022, 06:00:01 AM »
Police clashed with a crowd
after a man was shot by police
while trying to serve felony
warrants, and the man pulled
a gun from his waistband during
the arrest attempt.
Kevin Johnson was wanted for
2 felony warrants including assault
on a police officer and possession
of a firearm by a felon.
Johnson's sister Jasmine said
" He's not a bad person, so there's
no reason why this should have
happened.  . ."

Probably be a wise move to
let the poeleece remove any
pocket items, or things in the
waistband when they request
that you not do so
Surely better for your own longevity
Good sense in action

Law Enforcement officers of my era would be jailed for the way we dealt with this type of trash. Back in the day we shot cars that ran roadblocks. We didn't holler tazer-tazer-tazer, or however down with pepper spray.

We told'em we'd quit Hit'em when they quit fighting. Pull a knife? BANG! A hammer, or club? Bang! Beat he'll outta a woman, a kid, or the elderly? Please resist arrest.

It was a quieter time.

A longtime friend's either grandpa or
great grandpa was a deputy in OK
back around the early 1900s
He had an old nickle 38 Smith and
a blackjack, and a 32 break top
something for the pocket. IIRC the
badge still had I.T. on it. Probably a
hand me down. Seldom had to arrest
anybody. Drunks got to meet the
blackjack if they didn't behave and
were carried to their residence if they
didn't act too stupid. Been a long time
since I saw the stuff, but I'm thinking
there was a long long barrel Iver J shotgun
and I remember an old Winchester 30/30
with the finish gone for tactical use every
10 or 12 years when needed.
People were too tired from working all
day every day back then to act stupid

Back in the late '50's I became friends with a  guy that his father was a mechanic at the Chevrolet dealership. We would drop by to see his dad and became acquainted with a car salesman that was a retired cop. He was a rather large, burly dude and he told us some stories of how uncooperative arrestees were handled during his tenure as a cop. I believed his stories because his knuckles were almost solid scar tissue. My favorite was how they handled a guy that made a fuss while climbing the stairs to a cell. He said when they picked him up at the bottom of the stairs he was not a problem anymore.

It is pretty much a given that when one of these career thugs is put down his family members immediately start up with what a good boy/man he was and he didn't deserve the treatment he got when resisting arrest which almost always involves pulling a gun on the police. Good person, BS. Absolutely stupid person, YES, and deserved what he got.
