My #2 grandson gave me the book for Christmas, but I had a couple others lined up to read first.
Finally picked up "Woke, Inc" (inside America's corporate social justice system)". First edition, August 2021, by Vivek Ramaswamy.
Mr Ramaswamy is a first generation Indian American..graduated Suma cum Laude in molecular biology, from Harvard 2007. He went on later to study law at Yale..he may need that training now..
Curiously, he started his work career at Goldman-Sachs. As he explains..the big bonus of Goldman Sachs is just being in their employ. In high finance circles, just working for them is a huge feather-in-the-cap !
Vivek soon found out that their view is that in the big finance circles they firmly believe in the "golden rule", but their version says "He who has the gold, makes the rules" !
And that doesn't mean the rules for their firm and their employees, but the 'rules' for all of us. ..And that is exactly what they are doing now..
In my view, big capital can and will run the world to their tune..and eventually $#@*&^% it all up ! ..Simply because they are trying to dictate their values to the rest of us, when many of us already have a set of God given values that in no way match theirs.
According to Ramaswami.. in January 2020, at the WEF in Davos, Switzerland, Goldman announced that they were going to enforce their idea of 'diversity' of corporate boards, on others doing business with them..
Problem..it wasn't about diversity at all..it was corporate opportunism..seizeing a popular notion and concvntrating on it..to distract attention.
Few noticed that in at the same time Goldman paid $5 billion in fines to various governments, because of their scheme to steal billions from the Malaysian people..
